Summary
Maximize student independence with uPAR and Read&Write, two powerful literacy tools now available to all Iowa schools at no cost through state-funded access.
Every student in Iowa deserves a fair shot at success, regardless of their reading level. To make that happen, the state provides two powerful tools – uPAR and Read&Write – to all Iowa schools at no cost. These tools are designed to remove barriers to learning:
- uPAR helps teachers quickly identify which students understand grade-level material better when it’s read aloud to them.
- Read&Write is a simple toolbar that supports students while they work, offering features like text-to-speech, word prediction, and digital highlighting.
When students have the right support, they gain the independence to tackle grade-level assignments on their own. Because these tools are state-funded, your district can provide this support immediately without worrying about the budget. Our team is ready to help you implement these resources and support your staff.
