Hearing Screenings
Early detection of hearing loss can ensure appropriate supports and services are in place to meet the unique needs of each learner. Central Rivers AEA provides hearing screenings for infants, young children, and school-aged learners, all at no cost to families.
Sound Booth Hearing Testing
Hearing testing for infants and toddlers is often completed in a sound booth. Sound booths are located at each of our three agency offices. Please see our brochure regarding hearing testing in our sound booths for learners of all ages.

Annual Hearing Screenings in Schools
Central Rivers AEA performs annual hearing screenings in:
- Accredited public preschools
- Head Starts
- Public and non-public schools for learners in preschool-2nd grade and 8th grade and for learners new to Central Rivers AEA
Contact your child’s school to learn when screenings are scheduled. If your child does not attend a public preschool and/or you have concerns regarding your child’s hearing, please call your local Central Rivers office.
