Support first-year teachers & build mentor skills with Central Rivers AEA

Group of students working together.

Central Rivers AEA is offering its Year 1 Mentoring & Induction program this school year to help new educators succeed while meeting state licensing requirements. Beyond fulfilling Iowa’s mandatory two-year licensing pathway, the program supports both sides of the partnership: first-year teachers gain practical classroom strategies and direct coaching, while mentors sharpen their skills in leadership and collaboration.

Running from September through April, the four full-day sessions take place at CRAEA offices in Cedar Falls, Clear Lake and Marshalltown. This dual-focused training ensures new teachers feel supported during a critical transition while strengthening experienced staff. For registration details or course credit options, educators can review the event flyer or contact Bradi Johnson (bjohnson@centralriversaea.org) or Lacey Bruhn (lbruhn@centralriversaea.org).
