In response to questions around support for interventions, Central Rivers AEA is hosting a series of Zoom meetings for administrators and teachers to aid in the understanding of Iowa Code 279.68 or Early Literacy Implementation (ELI) Legislation.
These sessions are designed to answer the questions:
- What is a research based intervention?
- What do classroom interventions look like?
- What is research based best practice?
- What interventions can be provided for students?
Each meeting will have a literacy topic centered on the recommendations of the National Reading Panel to balance our literacy curriculum and include instruction in phonemic awareness, phonics, fluency, comprehension, and vocabulary.
