Behavior SDI for special education teachers workshop starts in January

Summary

In response to overwhelming interest, we are excited to announce we have added a Clear Lake section and a Cedar Falls summer section to the Behavior SDI course! See the course catalog for dates and section offerings.

The “Behavior SDI for special education teachers” course caters specifically to special education teachers supporting students with Individualized Education Program (IEP) goals in Social, Emotional and Behavioral Health (SEBH). Encouraging a collaborative approach, team reps are welcomed to join alongside their special education colleagues.

Participants can expect to:

  • This course is designed to equip participants with the tools and knowledge they need to effectively address challenging behaviors exhibited by students.
  • We will uncover practical strategies to diagnose, design and deliver high-quality specially designed instruction (SDI).
  • Through a combination of evidence-based strategies and best practices, we will address the diverse needs of students with behavioral disabilities.
  • We will focus on the underlying functions of behavior, participants will be equipped to develop strategies that promote positive behavioral changes.

  • Course #226264, Section #318617: August 6, 7 and 8, all from 8:30 am – 2 pm.
  • Register at the AEA Professional Learning System.
