River Hills School Covid-19 reopening information

River Hills School has three separate Covid-19 calendars for the 2020-2021 school year. By necessity, these are fluid calendars and likely to change so please check with Mike Lonning, Principal (mlonning@centralriversaea.org) for any updates or if you have any questions regarding the school’s reopening.

STUDENT DAYS COVID Edition – River Hills 2020-21 Calendar

COHORT A River Hills 2020-21 Calendar – Student Days COVID-19 School Year

  • Attend full day in building on Mondays and Tuesdays through end of December.
  • Alternate every other week – Mondays, Tuesdays or Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays starting in January

COHORT B River Hills 2020-21 Calendar – Student Days COVID-19 School Year

  • Attend full day in building on Thursdays and Fridays through end of December
  • Alternate every other week – Thursdays, Fridays or Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays starting in January

Wednesdays through December are non-student/non-instructional days made up by the additional days added in the month of June.  If we are required to go 100% virtual for all students, Wednesday will become instructional student days to be traded out by the additional June days

Transportation

Every effort will be made to have students from the same district assigned to the same cohort days.  We have received a few calls from parents of students that share transportation between districts concerned about the child’s safety (especially with the inability of students keeping face coverings on)

Note: Some districts have indicated their drivers/aides have a 5-day contract in place and would prefer to split their students into two cohorts for safety reasons. Please let Mike Lonning (mlonning@centralriversaea.org) know as soon as possible if this is your district’s preference.  District staff will be required to escort students on and off the bus to the drive. This is to help with cross-contamination between River Hills staff and district staff

Lunch

For families selecting the 100% virtual model, a district building will need to be assigned for families to pick up a daily lunch.
